What is Counselling?Counselling is a collaborative process where the client and the therapist will work together to explore the client’s concerns in a safe, non-judgemental, and confidential manner. It is aimed to help the client gain awareness, enhance wellbeing and their overall quality of life.
-
How would I know if I need counselling? You can seek counselling if you’re finding it difficult to deal with whatever is happening in your life, are feeling overwhelmed or stressed lately, unable to utilise your full potential which is is hampering your professional or personal life or if you want to improve your self-esteem, confidence and increase your well-being.
-
How can Counselling help me?Counselling creates a confidential, safe and non-judgemental space for you to express your thoughts and feelings to your therapist openly without any hesitation. It can enable you to become more self-aware. It helps in reducing and managing the symptoms of mental health issues effectively. It is also useful in adapting more helpful thoughts and behaviour, improve your mood and create more acceptance and shift your perspective.
-
For what issues can I take counselling? We at Hiraaya provide counselling for - Depression - Anxiety - Stress - Phobias and fears - Workplace issues (work stress, better work life balance) - Relationship issues - Self improvement (low self-esteem, low confidence, lack of concentration) - Sleep problems
-
How many sessions would I need? There no set number of counselling sessions in general. It depends on the issues that the client is facing. For some of them it may take 6-8 sessions and for others long-term therapy might be more helpful. Each person moves at their own pace and healing can happen for different people at different times as everyone is on their unique journey. Therapy usually comes to an end when the client and the therapist believe that there has been a significant improvement and the client is more empowered.
